With the New Season upon us, it's time to wish all of our Team's the very best of luck for the next year! The Under 17's & 18's will get the season going with the remainder of the Leagues kicking off a week later.

All of our Teams should now be registered & this is the perfect time to up-date your Team Profile tab on the website......

You can also use your website to post Match reports each week & brag of glorious victories & honourable losses! Remember to drop us a line if you want to get the camera to you game.

Senior Team's Friendly

Under 17 -v- Under 18 DDSL:

The James Downey managed under 17 team gave their older under 18 club mates a scare on Thursday night in both teams first friendly of the season....

The 17's raced into the lead when they opened the scoring after about 4 seconds. After that, the game settled into a tight and keenly contested first half. Apart from the under 18 manager pulling what is left of his hair out at a clear cut penalty that the ref waved away!

The 17's ended the half on a high after the 18's 'keeper contrived to throw a cross into his own net leaving the score at 2 - 0.

The 18's took more control of the second half however a brief spell leaving 3 at the back gave the 17's the chance to add a 3rd after some great football cut the 18's open as they pushed on looking for an opener.

At 3 - 0 down the older boys went looking for the luck in front of goal that was missing in the game so far. One stunning shot from the 18 Captain, a tap in from right mid field & a 3rd from the Players Most Improved Player of the Year saw the game finish level.

A cheeky opportunistic goal that was disallowed coupled with the peno that never was could have ended the game 4 all however neither side deserved to lose.

With the cobwebs now blown away both teams continue their pre season warm up with games this Sunday with the 17's hosting Knocklyon & the 18's off to Ringsend Park to take on Liffey Pearse

Under 15: Manager Wanted!

Our under 15 team are on the look out for a new manager. Having come close to league triumph last year the team are hoping to go one better this season. Anyone interested should contact Linda on 086-3017890.

Kick start One & Two will be arranged should the right person need it along with the full support of our Committee & Club Coach.

Club of the Year Awards

Following on from receiving the National Club of the Month Award, Firhouse Carmel F.C. competed in the final of the Club of the Year Award with 7 other Clubs from around the country last week end. The award ceremony was held ahead of the F.A.I. Annual General Meeting in Monaghan where a host of famous names from Irish football paid the Firhouse stand a visit and complimented our Club on its achievement in reaching the Final as well asthe presentation our Club put forward on the day! Marco Tardelli, Packie Bonner & a host of League & National officials from every corner of Ireland, including John Delaney discussed our Club's progress to date as well as our plans for the future.

Under 18 DDSL

Our Under 18 DDSL squad will commence preseason training on Sunday, 19th July at 11.30 on Carrigwood Green.

This will be followed by a Preseason friendly against Spartak Dynamo the following Thursday evening.

2009 / 2010 Season Registration
